Whats wrong with Signet of Humility?
*Note* I am not an "experienced" PvPer. I have 46 Fame. And I do not participate in GvG. And know some people will quote the "I am not an 'experienced' PvPer" and say, "thats where I stopped reading". So, this is more of a question rather than a discussion.
As I have gotten more and more into this form, I've noticed that some people see skills like, [skill=text]Avatar of Grenth[/skill] and [skill=text]Jagged Bones[/skill] as unbalanced. You can find links here: Avatar of Grenth, Spoil Victor, and Jagged Bones.
A lot of people are saying these skills are unbalanced, which they probobly are. But one thing at lease these skills all have in common are; they are elite.
Normally, an elite skill is supposed to be a skill of higher power and thus, stronger in only being able to have one.
But all elite skills are vulnerable to one thing.
[skill]Signet of Humility[/skill]
Whats special about this skill is:
1. Its not elite.
2. Its a signet.
3. It affects skills.
As usually every GvG runs at least one [skill=text]Diversion[/skill], [skill=text]Spiritual Pain[/skill] Mesmer, they still have room for more skills. And SoH is a skill that can easily fill that void and render SV,AoG, and JB, useless.
But of corse the problem with SoH is its recharge.
20 seconds, and its duration lasts a full 17 seconds with 16 Inspiration.
However, this skill is coupled well with [skill=text]Mantra of Insriptions[/skill].
With both of skills combined at 10 Inspiration Magic, you keep this skill up almost indefinately (I think). The 2 second cast time throws it off.
But it'd be just as easy to give another person in the group SoH with very little in inspiration and they can use it just before you cast it.
So, my question is:
Whats wrong with Signet of Humility? Why isn't every mesmer using this skill in GvG to counter such powerful elites?

People do use this in some gvg builds. There are a few reasons its not heavily used.
1. with inscriptions it eats 2 skill slot's to be effective.
2. 2 second cast, can be easliy interupted.
3. the heavy investment in inspiration limits some mesmer builds.
4. sometimes it not so easy to maintain on a target.
personally I think it is fine right were it is.

I think Anet should change the cast time to a second. that way, those 'unbalanced' skills in the Metagame can be tamed much easier.

Lets start by looking at this skill compared with Avatar of Grenth. If you miss humility on this skill for 2 seconds, which you will if the person you're fighting isn't a retard, it doesn't matter. He gets the form for the next minute.
Spoil Victor is damn strong, and you are doing a fair ammount if you're keeping this humilitied. Again though, you're keeping 2 skills active to take one out.
Jagged Bones is not overpowered. Soul Reaping is the culprit behind the problem.
The other big reason this isn't used, is becuase of diversion. It's simply better to take the skill in question out of the game if you know what you're doing. Not only is it better, it's more diverse in what it can be used on, is in an attribute line you really really want, and on a better recharge. And best of all, it only takes up 1 skill slot.

Stuey's right, but to expand, a few reasons why this doesn't see play:
-It's only really money against elites that you constantly want to be spamming, or adrenal elites. Anything that already has a long recharge (like hexes, forms, elite energy management) is minimally affected by SoH. They only need a single interrupt or bit of slowness on your part to get almost optimal effectiveness from their elite while you waste time and skillslots. There are plenty of spammable elites in the current meta (Searing Flames, Blinding Surge every monk elite, most warrior elites) but Diversion in the hands of a skilled player tends to fill the same role.
The other larger reason is that Inspiration is pretty much a dead line since the various nerfs. Nobody wants to spec highly into an energy management attribute when every piece of energy management in the line is a steaming pile of crap (besides Power Drain I guess, and Spirit of Failure in hex builds.) Mesmers these days mostly use Glyph of Lesser Energy for E-management, which frees up all kinds of attributes points to buff your Dom and your secondary with plenty to spare.
